Excursions
During the week we do a couple of excursions to explore the treasures nearby. One highlight is Assisi, where a passionate local guide leads us through the streets and sacred places where St Francis lived and walked. Her storytelling brings this remarkable man vividly to life.
On another day we visit Monteleone d’Orvieto, “the mountain lion of Orvieto”, a perfectly preserved medieval hilltop village with a panoramic view that will take your breath away.
Close to the centre, you’ll also find a natural thermal spring where the water flows at a constant 40°C. The Romans bathed here some 2,000 years ago, drawn by the mineral-rich waters that restored their health and vitality. A soak here is not to be missed.
The Food
All meals are freshly prepared, entirely vegetarian, and mostly gluten-free. We are not strictly vegan, part of the joy here is savouring the wonderful Italian cheeses and local specialities that make Italian food so beloved. That said, vegan options are warmly catered for.
Accommodation
You stay in a private double room, spacious and light-filled, with beautiful views. Shower and toilet are conveniently just outside your door.
The Yoga
We practise yoga, chanting and meditation twice daily, morning and afternoon. This is not a demanding or athletic style, it is gentle, grounding, and deeply restorative. Guests often notice they sleep better, feel calmer, and leave with a lighter body and a quieter mind. Each session closes with an extended relaxation, followed by mantra chanting and meditation, a beautiful way to ease into the stillness of the day.
